We are experiencing an alarming trend for our emergency homeless shelter and services we provide for those in need and for our community. With only three months to go before we enter a New Year, it is clear we will exceed our 2015 record numbers by the end of October. As the weather gets chillier, our house fills up. We are reviewing our current facilities and planning for the future. The last 7 years have proven this is not a trend, but it is a new normal. It is why we held our first fund raising effort this year, sought grants, established electronic media links to process donations and creatively sought ways to meet the growing need. With the increased levels of services provided, we are in need of additional funding for the number of people for whom we are providing shelter, food and clothing.
