Other ways to help

Volunteering your time or cooking a meal aren’t the only ways to support Catholic Worker House.

Donate money

Monetary donations are always welcome and appreciated. The easiest way to donate money is to use our PayPal account. The money donated goes to fulfill our wish list, help with immediate needs, keep our house running, and provide meals.

Contribute soda cans for our Impact Fund

Did you know helping can be as simple as recycling pop cans and bottles? This year, we have been able to bring an impressive recycling effort into action we call our “Impact Fund.”

When coming into the shelter situation there can be many immediate needs. Often times we can work our way through the list and take care of them rather quickly with access to money. These are usually small dollar amounts that can have a big IMPACT on a life in a positive way.

Examples of how we use Impact Funds:

  • Payment on a storage unit
  • Purchase new work clothes or shoes
  • Buy glasses
  • Fill medications
  • Pay phone bills

We help our clients with items that others cannot. The only requirement is it makes a positive IMPACT on their life.

You can drop off your cans at our office at 1027 5th Avenue S.E., or call 319-362-9041 to arrange a porch pick-up.
